Potana Bhagavatamu Home
This is an effort to popularise Srimad Mahabhagavatam of Potana, a translation into Telugu. Potana was the first to translate Srimad MahaBhagavatam of Vyasa Maharshi into Telugu. Later on translations into other Indian languages like Tamil, Kannada, Marathi, Bengali, Assamese, Oriya, etc. came about. Every one will get benefited by studying Bhagavatam in any language.
Potana Bhagavatam is a boon for the Telugu knowing people.
Many publishers had published this work. A recent publication, jointly by SriRamaKrishna Math, Hyderabad and Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams, Tirupati provides prose rendering which is needed by many who are not very conversant with Sanskrit words used in Telugu.
Any information highlighting the works of Potana will be welcome.
The Bhakti cult propagated by Potana influenced great personalities like Thyagayya, Ramadas, Annamayya and others.
The Telugu stanzas of Potana need to be memorised by one and all to get solace from the maddening modernity eclipsing our cult and culture. Children should be taught some of the great poems from various contexts in Potana Bhagavatam.
